Among them, except for sulfur and chlorine, which can easily cause poisoning and deactivation of methanol catalysts; Carbonyl metals, arsenic, and trace amounts of ammonia are also important causes of poisoning and deactivation of methanol catalysts, affecting their service life. Therefore, solving the purification of methanol synthesis feed gas is crucial for extending the service life of methanol catalysts. At present, the main gap between domestic small and medium-sized nitrogen fertilizer enterprises and foreign methanol enterprises is also in the level of synthesis gas purification. Although the promotion and application of precision desulfurization and dechlorination technologies have played a significant role in extending the service life of methanol catalysts in recent years, further improving the purification level of synthesis gas is still an urgent task.
